1oz silver bar prices
A 1oz silver bar contains one troy ounce of fine silver, about 31.1 grams. Many of the costs of making and selling a bar are not tied to the value of its silver. At this size, those costs make up a large share of the price. Prices below are the latest published prices from the dealers we track, checked hourly.
These are the Australian dealers we track, not the entire market. Each row shows the lowest published price for that product. Select a product to see every dealer.
Premium over the last 90 days
Over the last 90 days, the median premium for a 1oz silver bar ranged from 14.0% to 27.0%. On 21 October it was 14.7%.
To find the median premium, we take each dealer's middle premium and then the middle of those, so every dealer counts once. The chart counts only the listings we have priced on most weekdays in this period, so a product joining or leaving does not move the line. Each day uses the last price of that day, Sydney time. Lowest is the smallest premium any of them listed that day, and spot is the silver price in AUD on the left-hand scale.

What is the premium?
The premium is the amount a product's price sits above the spot value of its metal. It covers costs such as production and distribution, as well as the dealer's margin. We calculate it by comparing the published price with the spot price recorded when the price was collected.
